Bucyrus, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A final pretrial conference was held Monday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court to address scheduling matters for the jury trial of former Bucyrus Councilwoman Carolyn Shireman. Shireman’s case is being presided over by retired visiting Judge Howard Hall.
Present during the conference were Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler, representing the state, and John Andrew Motter, the defendant’s legal counsel.
During the proceedings, both parties agreed to reschedule the jury trial, which is now set for Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. The trial is expected to last four days.
Shireman was initially indicted on charges of telecommunications fraud, a third-degree felony, and theft, a fourth-degree felony. In June, an additional charge of telecommunications fraud—a second-degree felony—was filed against her, linked to her management of the nonprofit organization The Positive Seekers.
Crawford County Now will continue to follow this developing story.
