Caroline Shifley is swimming to Florida! Not literally of course, but the soon to be Galion graduate is set to continue her aquatic career in the Sunshine State.

Surrounded by family and friends Thursday night at the Galion Pizza Hut, Shifley put pen to paper on a letter of intent to swim the freestyles and butterfly at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.

Caroline’s father Mike Shifley, recounted his favorite memory of watching Caroline swim, “Caroline’s very critical of herself even when she swims well and when she won the NCC championship butterfly, she got out of the pool smiling and she was just very excited for herself.”

Shifley is wrapping up a career in which she was four times high point winner on her team and three times advanced to the Districts in the state competition. She won her team’s coach’s award as a sophomore and outstanding swimmer award as a junior. She was also an all-county swimmer her junior year and called winning the NCC championship in the 100 yard butterfly her “best personal achievement.”
