The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office recently acted on information from a local high school concerning the amount of students driving while using cell phones and not wearing safety belts. As a result, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office kicked off the National “Click it or Ticket” campaign and took a unique approach in educating the motoring public—both students and adults—by conducting safety check points at the schools.

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with Buckeye Central, Colonel Crawford and Wynford Schools, conducted the safety checkpoints in the morning at each school this week. Occupants found in violation of the traffic laws were educated as to the laws in place for their protection.

A total of 59 warnings were issued during the checkpoints.
