On October 22nd, 2016 between the hours of 10am and 2pm the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in cooperation with Operation Medicine Cabinet which helps keep drugs out of rivers, streams, drinking water and out the hands of children. The Metrich Drug Task Force coordinated the event, throughout the Metrich region.
In all, the Sheriff’s Office collected 39 pounds of unused/expired prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and vitamins. Items collected will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency to be properly disposed of.
Sheriff Scott Kent would like to thank those residents who participated in the program. If you were unable to participate today, the Sheriff’s Office has a drop off box located in the lobby, which is available 24 hours a day.
