On October 26th, 2013 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office participated in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day in cooperation with Operation Medicine Cabinet which helps keep drugs out of rivers, streams, drinking water and the hands of children.
The Metrich Drug Task Force coordinated the event, throughout the Metrich region. In all, the Sheriff’s Office collected 40 pounds of unused / expired prescription medications, over-the-counter medications and vitamins. Items collected will be turned over to the Drug Enforcement Agency to be properly disposed of. Sheriff Kent would like to thank those residents who participated in the program.
The Sheriff’s Office has a drop off box available to the public 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to assist in disposing of unused or expired medication. No personal information will be collected.
