Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent has released his department’s annual report covering 2015 which provides a snapshot of that calendar year.
Kent cited a connection between two types of crimes, noting an increase in arrests in one has resulted in a decrease in the other. According to the annual report, drug arrests increased by 166 percent over 2014, while burglaries were down 58 percent and thefts went down by 28 percent.
The Sheriff’s Office directed or assisted in 50 drug-related search warrants in 2015 resulting in 70 indictments and 90 felony charges. In all, the Sheriff’s Office responded to more than 10,400 incidents in 2015 and handled nearly 28,000 calls.
