CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Crawford County Sheriff Scott Kent has released a statement supporting the removal of a GoFundMe page created to support the individual accused of killing a Hamilton County Deputy.

Sheriff Kent stated, “Please read the letter from the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association. I find it sickening that GoFundMe would support fundraising for a cop killer. As your Sheriff, I support this letter. Please join us and demand that GoFundMe take these fundraisers down immediately.”

The Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association Demands GoFundMe Remove Fundraiser for Cop-Killer who Taunted Deputies at Arraignment

Robert Cornwell, Executive Director of the Buckeye State Sheriffs’ Association, is demanding that the online fundraising platform GoFundMe shut down the multiple fundraisers supporting Rodney Hinton, Jr. Hinton is currently charged with murdering a Hamilton County Deputy Sheriff who was working a special duty detail on May 2, 2025.   

On behalf of the Law Enforcement Community in Ohio and the nation, we implore the GoFundMe organization to immediately take down the efforts to fundraise for an assassin.

The BSSA represents all Sheriffs in the State of Ohio, as well as over 3,000 deputy sheriffs and 17,000 private citizens.   

Mr. Hinton and his family and friends should not benefit at the expense of a Law Enforcement Officer who was doing the job he was hired to perform.
