A Shelby man hit the trifecta earlier this week, but he wasn’t celebrating. Thirty-year-old Brian Rust was cited as a result of a one-vehicle accident on Ohio 61 south of Hook Road.
Deputies with the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office cited Rust for reckless operation, driving under a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. Rust’s vehicle, a 2006 Chevrolet HHR, went off the roadway, hit an embankment and power pole and flipped twice.
Rust fled from the scene on foot and was later located by authorities. He had minor injuries. His vehicle had to be towed from the scene by Ronk’s Towing Service.
In addition to the Sheriff’s Office and Ronk’s, the Jefferson Township Fire Department and Life Support Ambulance Service were also at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
