RICHLAND COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A two-vehicle serious injury crash on State Route 314 in Sharon Township, Richland County, sent a teenage driver to the hospital Thursday morning.

The Mansfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the incident occurred at 7:51 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2025, on State Route 314 near Stine Road.

A 16-year-old driver from Lexington, Ohio, was operating a 2010 Honda Civic northbound on SR 314. The driver lost control of the vehicle in a curve, crossed the center line, and struck a southbound 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 driven by Gregory Ditmars, 62, of Shelby, Ohio.

The juvenile driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by Shelby Fire and EMS to Ohio Health Mansfield. Mr. Ditmars sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Drugs and alcohol are not suspected as factors in the incident, which remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Shelby Fire and EMS, Ranks Towing, and Auer Towing.
