MARION—Troopers from the Marion Post are conducting an investigation into a serious injury crash that transpired on October 6, 2023, at approximately 12:23 PM. The incident occurred on State Route 4, just north of Morral Kirkpatrick Road in Marion County.

The crash involved a 2008 Acura RDX, driven by Lorenzo R.P. Johnson, a 45-year-old resident of Marion. Preliminary findings from the investigation suggest that Mr. Johnson was heading southbound on State Route 4 when his vehicle veered off the right side of the road. Upon leaving the roadway, the Acura collided with a boulder and a nearby residence before overturning.

In the aftermath of the crash, Mr. Johnson was transported from the scene via Med Flight to The Ohio State University Hospital, located in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Johnson was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.

Another individual in the residence also sustained injuries as a result of the crash. Emergency medical services from Marion Township transported him to Marion General Hospital for medical attention.

Responding to the scene, The Ohio State Highway Patrol received support and assistance from various agencies, including the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, 1st Consolidated Fire and EMS, Salt Rock Township Fire and EMS, Marion Township Fire and EMS, and Buckeye Collision Towing.
