Walking on the sidewalks through Picking Park in Bucyrus on Saturday afternoon there was an abundant amount of colorful artwork. The annual Arts in the Parks Show put on by Crawford County Arts Council turned out great. From homemade soaps to leather belts, there were many options for viewers to admire and take home with them.

“I think it’s a good thing to have, some of the women like to look at the crafts and guys like the cars, so gives a little something for everybody,” Crystal Johnson of CBJ Primitives comments about the art show. Her country primitive and home décor sent a welcoming “homey” feeling to all of those who passed.

For a little inspiration for the artist inside everyone, Terry Snyder’s spectacular watercolor paintings were the perfect touch. When asked what advice he would give to aspiring artists he replied, “Paint what you want to paint when you want to paint it.”

That advice seems to be working as his collection of work keeps developing and looking more skilled as his inspiration grows.

Each ornament had a specific theme to it ranging from Halloween décor to families forming the infamous O-H-I-O. Each ornament made especially for every customer.

Also glistening in the sunlight was the beautiful, hand-painted wine glasses made by Sandy and Bob Laipply. The stunning flowers that were flawlessly painted onto the glasses made for a perfect gift for anyone.

Athena’s Gems also made a shiny appearance as owner, Liz Elliot shared her creations with passing customers. Athena’s Gems is well known for their steampunk jewelry, shiny Swarovski, wire-wrapped rings, and so much more.
