The Bucyrus High School science club will host a blood drive from 7:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. Feb. 6, in the middle school gymnasium. Students interested in donating must be at least 16 years old with parental permission and a valid ID or donor card.
The science club hopes members of the community will come out and show their support and help them reach their goal. “The Red Cross is in serious need of blood donations due to the extreme winter weather, and we are pleased to be able to help,” science club advisor Amanda Kent said. “We (science club) are halfway to our year long goal of collecting 200 units for the Red Cross. If we reach that goal, we will be able to award a $750 scholarship to a graduating senior.”
To schedule an appointment, contact Kent at (419) 562-7721 ext.1208, or call 1-800-RED CROSS. Those interested can also register online at www.redcrossblood.org and use the sponsor code “bucyrushs.” Walk-ins are welcomed. Participants in the blood drive will be given a Tim Horton’s Free Donut Coupon, and also will be entered to win a year of groceries from Kroger. You can make a difference. Help a save a life!
