BUCYRUS — The Rising Sun Fund with the Wynford FFA saw its largest increase in funding, which was celebrated during this year’s giving Tuesday.

Two years ago, Wynford FFA members Aaron Hand, Luke Scott and Ethan Stuckey, and teachers Tessa Martin and Mike Hoffman started the Rising Sun Fund. The purpose of this fund is to give a scholarship, that varies every year depending on the size of the fund, to senior FFA State Degree recipients.

The first year, $5,000 was added to the fund, and $8,000 was added the second year. The money was given by many different donors in our community through pie auctions and other donations.

In 2019, $25,000 was added, making the total fund around $40,000. This money came from many donors who received a letter from our chapter, asking for donations in order to start our fund.

The scholarship won in the “scholarship fund” category for Crawford County, so FCBank donated an extra $500. This is the second year in a row that the “Rising Sun Fund” has been awarded $500 for winning most money donated.

We are excited to start this scholarship for the class of 2021.
