CRAWFORD COUNTY, Ohio (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Salvation Army is kicking off preparations for its most critical fundraiser of the year, the annual Red Kettle Campaign, and is inviting local clubs, businesses, and schools to participate in a creative competition: “Pretty Painted Pots.”
The Red Kettle Campaign provides essential aid for Crawford County residents not only during the holiday season but throughout the entire year.
This year, the local Salvation Army is calling on groups to decorate one of their iconic red kettles with a Christmas-themed design. In addition to decorating, participating groups are asked to commit to volunteering as a Bell Ringer for a minimum of four hours sometime during the season.
The decorated kettles will be publicly displayed throughout the holidays. Groups must return their finished “Pretty Painted Pots” to the Salvation Army by Monday, Nov. 17.
The campaign will host its annual Kettle Kick-off Breakfast on Friday, Nov. 21, at 9 a.m., where attendees will vote on the most creative and artistic kettle.
New this year, a “People’s Choice Award” will be given at the end of the bell-ringing season to the group whose kettle raises the most money.
“We hope that Pretty Painted Pots is an opportunity for community fun and creativity,” said a Salvation Army representative.
