CRESTLINE―Local law enforcement conducted a search of a rural Crestline residence on Friday that resulted in one arrest.
Russell L. Mott, 66, 2523 Ohio 598, was arrested for cultivating marijuana after the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the METRICH drug task force, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and officers from the Galion Police Department executed a search warrant at his residence. The search warrant stemmed from officers flying over Crawford County looking for illegal marijuana growing.
Several marijuana plants were found growing in a garage, inside the residence and inside a fenced-in area of the property. Officers seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash and several firearms.
Mott is being held at the Crawford County Justice Center pending formal charges and the case is still under investigation.
