One way to beat the mid-winter blues in January is a trip to the Lowe-Park Nature Center’s Rock `n Fossil Day in a couple of weeks. The annual event is scheduled from 11 in the morning through 2 in the afternoon on Jan. 16.
All sorts and types of minerals, fossils, gems and rocks will make the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center the go-to destination for rock hounds in the area. Members of the Richland Lithic and Lapidary Society will be on site to help identify pieces brought in by the public. They will also provide a special exhibit of fluorescent rocks and minerals.
The event will include displays from several exhibitors.
Lowe-Volk Park is located on State Route 598 on the south of Leesville and approximately five miles north of Galion. For additional information call the Park District office at 419-683-9000.
