BUCYRUS-President and CEO of First Federal Community Bank, Brad Murtiff, is pleased to announce the 2021 First Federal Community Bank scholarship winners. Brad stated, “This is our third year awarding two Crawford County High School graduates each a $2,000 scholarship. The quality of applicants make it very difficult for our scholarship committee to choose the winners each year. We wish we could award the scholarship to every applicant as they are all deserving. Ultimately, we pick the winners that would best complement our bank culture and guiding principles. Please join me in congratulating this year’s winners: Brock Ritzhaupt and Thomas Phillips.”

Brock Ritzhaupt is the son of Sean and Kendra Ritzhaupt and a recent graduate of Colonel Crawford High School. Brock will be attending Heidelberg University while majoring in Finance. Brock stated, “I have been involved in many activities for the past four years. Many of these activities being athletics such as playing football, basketball, and baseball all four years of high school. I have also participated in National Honor Society and Student Council. During the summer, I spend time umpiring youth baseball and running baseball tournaments on the weekends.”

Thomas Phillips is the son of Walter and Susan Phillips and a recent graduate of Buckeye Central High School. Thomas will be attending The Ohio State University while majoring in Civil Engineering. Thomas stated, “Throughout my high school career, I was a four year letterman winner in football and baseball. I was a lead in the high school musical for 6 years in a row. I was the president of our FFA chapter my junior and senior year. I was a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council. I did not achieve this all on my own as all the credit goes to my parent, friends, family, and community.”
First Federal Community Bank would like to wish all the applicants the very best in their future endeavors! You make our community proud!
