It’s not just skill that wins horsemanship classes but also practice and memorization. Nobody may know that better this year than Alissa Bartholomew. Bartholomew won Western Horsemanship Champion Tuesday afternoon at the Crawford County Fair. She beat out other winners from various Western Horsemanship classes.
Riders performed various patterns for the classes and are judged on their precision and smoothness throughout the pattern and on rail work.
“I’ve worked on a lot of patterns,” Bartholomew said to prepare for Tuesday’s horsemanship classes. “They’re kind of hard.”
