MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A Richland County Highway Department worker was fatally struck by an SUV Wednesday afternoon while crews were working along Bowman Street Road.
The incident occurred around 2:24 p.m. between Myers Road and Amoy West Road, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP). Trenton Gallaway, 20, of Lucas, was standing outside a highway department vehicle when he was hit by a white Nissan Rogue attempting to pass on the left.
Gallaway was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, a 43-year-old woman from Shelby, remains under investigation by OSHP.
The crash is still being investigated.
