The first flower show for the 2014 Crawford County Fair, “Off to see the Wizard”, was judged on Sunday, July 13 at 9 a.m. by OAGC judge Pat Wells. Crawford County Garden Clubs; Earth, Wind, and Flowers Garden Club; Petal Pushers Garden Club; and North End Garden Club competed in the Adult Artistic classes.
Best of Show was won by Earth, Wind, and Flowers Garden Club with “Over the Rainbow,” creative mass. Adrienne Peck won Best of Show for the 13-19 year olds with her design “The Wicked Witch of the West,” a design in a black container. Sandy Fankhauser won Best of Show Annuals with an Angelonia. Carissa Chester won Best of Show Herbs with Artemisia. Sydney Harris won Best of Show Junior Horticulture with a Hydrangea Bloom.
Norton’s Flowers donated the invitational design “Kansas Twister” for the first show.
