NORTH ROBINSON — The Colonel Crawford Board of Education held their monthly meeting on Monday evening.
Much like many schools in the area, Colonel Crawford passed Ohio House Bill 409, created by Governor DeWine, which changes the requirements that need to be met for an individual to be a substitute teacher during the remainder of this school year.
Before, an individual had to have at least their bachelor’s degree to be able to be qualified, but now an individual only needs to have their associate’s degree or have at least two years (forty-eight credit hours) of college under his or her belt.
It was discussed that when the time comes for vaccinations to be given to CC staff members, the school is contemplating having them administered on a Friday, which will then become an in-service day to allow any staff members to recover should they have any reactions to the vaccine. Nothing has been made official at this time, and the school will relay any information pertaining to the matter if/when need be.
The board was updated on the school’s current quarantine numbers— one active confirmed student case, nineteen students in quarantine, no active confirmed staff cases, and two staff members in quarantine. Since August 20 when school started, there have only been thirty positive cases within the school. To keep up to date with this info, you can go to the school’s Covid-19 dashboard.
Also, at the meeting, the board accepted a 10,500-dollar donation from Dustin and Alisha Sqrow to be used towards any needs in the elementary school.
The next meeting is on February 22 at 7 p.m. in the media center.
