BUCYRUS—Some local residents are wondering what the reason is for the closure of a portion of North Sandusky Avenue on Tuesday.
According to Bucyrus Mayor Jeff Reser, the railroad tracks on North Sandusky are closed for repair for the next two to three days.
“Milling is taking place today and paving is expected to be done tomorrow,” said Reser in a press release on Tuesday morning.
North Walnut or North Poplar Streets to Mary Street can be used as alternate routes to avoid the area for the next few days.
Reser said the project was scheduled to begin over a year ago.
“We apologize about the delay but there are a lot of hoops you have to jump through when working with the railroad companies. It takes longer than you can imagine,” said Reser. “We have been trying to get it done for several years and it is finally happening.”
