The Bucyrus and Galion police departments gave a one-two punch to an ongoing drug investigation Tuesday afternoon.

937 N. Sandusky Ave.Detectives from the two departments, along with the Crawford County Special Response Team and METRICH Task Force, executed two search warrants at residences in Bucyrus and Galion. Law enforcement issued the first search warrant at 937 N. Sandusky Ave. in Bucyrus just before 4:30 p.m., where police had been conducting an ongoing investigation. Police seized a large quantity of suspected crack cocaine, suspected heroin, and over $1,200 in cash. They also found evidence of drug trafficking.

231 Walker St.Just a few hours later, officers executed the second search warrant at 231 Walker St. in Galion. Just after 7 p.m., detectives recovered more than four kilos of suspected crack cocaine and an estimated 800 grams of suspected heroin. Police are continuing the investigation to pursue asset forfeiture of property, vehicles, and proceeds from drug activity. The departments were assisted by the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office and the METRICH Task Force.

Police arrested 38-year-old Khabeer J. Brown, a resident of both addresses. Initial charges for possession of crack cocaine and heroin are pending. Police also took in another adult male and an adult female, both residents of Bucyrus.

The estimated weight of heroin seized was 820 grams valued at $16,000 and over five kilograms of crack cocaine valued at $350,000.
