A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for causing $20,000 worth of fire damage to a Hamilton Park playscape.

Crestline police and fire personnel responded to a call shortly before midnight on March 18 concerning an active fire at Hamilton Park. The arsonist had dowsed the playscape with gasoline and set it on fire. Though the police and fire worked to put out the blaze, the playscape still sustained nearly $20,000 in damages.

The arson is being investigated by the Crestline Police Department and the Ohio Fire Marshal. Felony criminal charges can be pursued due to the amount of damage sustained. The Fire Marshal’s office has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
