BUCYRUS—The Bucyrus Police Department is investigating the death of a Bucyrus man on Friday evening.

According to Lt. Tom Walker, public information officer for the department, police were called to the 400 block of East Rensselaer Street for an unresponsive 36-year-old male.

“There is no indication of foul play. It is suspected to be an overdose but the exact cause of death will have to be determined by an autopsy,” said Walker.

Walker said Crawford County Coronor Dr. Grant Hope was at the scene along with Portsmouth EMS personnel and the Bucyrus Fire Department.

“The fire department, EMS and our department rotated doing CPR. Everyone did an outstanding job in attempting to save this man’s life. Unfortunately, it is not a good outcome,” said Walker.

He said the man’s body will be sent to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office for the autopsy and more information will be released at a later date. The man’s name is being withheld until his family members have been notified.
