With St. Patrick’s Day falling on a Friday this year, it was no surprise that the Bucyrus Police Department kept busy, but what was surprising was the number of suspected overdoses.

The first suspected overdose occurred at 10 a.m. Saturday when officers assisted the Life Support Team in the 300 block of East Charles Street. The subject was treated at Bucyrus Community Hospital.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, officers began investigating a report of a 37-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman overdosing in the 1500 block of North Sandusky Avenue. Those subjects were also treated at the hospital.

Police once again investigated an apparent overdose by a 32-year-old man just after 9 a.m. in the 200 block of Emerson Street. He was treated at the local hospital.

The biggest rash of arrests occurred between Friday night and Saturday morning.

Officers responded to a domestic violence complaint in the 300 block of Iron Street just after 9:30 p.m. Friday. Thirty-five-year-old James Netters was arrested for domestic violence and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.

Three people were arrested in the midnight hours Saturday starting with Yvonne Ramage. She was located in the 100 block of South Poplar Street and arrested on two warrants out of Crawford County. She was issued a date to appear in court and released.

Police made a traffic stop just before 1 a.m. in the 200 block of Plymouth Street. Though officers issued a traffic warning, they also made two arrests. Twenty-five-year-old Tyler Eber and 22-year-old Jared Deskins were arrested for marijuana possession. Both men were issued a minor misdemeanor citation and released with a court date.

Over an hour later two more people were arrested after another traffic stop was made on South Sandusky Avenue near Shell Avenue. Twenty-year-old Dalton Hoover was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and underage consumption. Nineteen-year-old Amber Mullins, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested for underage consumption.

The arrests tapered off until the early morning hours on Sunday. Officers investigated a motorist for possible drunk driving at 12:16 a.m. The vehicle was stopped on North Sandusky Avenue at Galen Street. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

A little over an hour later, a report of a non-injury crash led police to the 100 block of West Mansfield Street where the 29-year-old driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

Another traffic stop just before 4:22 p.m. Sunday at Marion Road and Allen Avenue saw 29-year-old Lloyd Weaver arrested on a Crawford County warrant. He was issued a date to appear in court and a traffic citation before being released.

A short time later officers responded to a domestic violence complaint in the 400 block of North Walnut Street. Thirty-year-old Robert Fisher was arrested for domestic violence. He was transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for court.

The final weekend arrest occurred just before 5:30 when an officer assisted the Shelby Police Department with delivering a message. In the course of delivering the message the subject was arrested on a Crawford County warrant. She was issued a date to appear in court and was released.
