One word uttered at the wrong time and place halted Colonel Crawford’s school day for a bit Thursday.
Colonel Crawford Superintendent Todd Martin said a “goofy” statement made by a student to his friends while in a classroom forced the district to be overly cautious.
“We have to take all these seriously,” Martin said. “We can’t pick and choose anymore.”
When the word “bomb” came up in conversation among some students, the school district was forced to act. Martin said the administration team was brought together and the Crawford County Sheriff’s was contacted. According to Martin, questions were quickly answered, but the school district also contacted parents around noon to make them aware of the situation.
