GREEN CREEK TOWNSHIP, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)–The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a plane crash that occurred at the Sandusky County Regional Airport at 1:36 p.m.

Karl J. Honsperger, 78, of Fremont, was landing a 2021 Hatz Bantam biplane when its right front landing gear collapsed. Honsperger, who was wearing his seatbelt and goggles, was not injured in the crash. No fuel or other hazardous materials were spilled from the plane.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Traffic Safety Board are assisting with the ongoing investigation. Impaired driving is not considered a factor in the incident.
