Press release
A recent financial audit of Pioneer Career & Technology Center by the Auditor of State’s office has returned a clean audit report. Pioneer’s excellent record-keeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award for the fourth consecutive year.
Pioneer Treasurer, Linda Schumacher, attributes the success of Pioneer’s financial record keeping to teamwork, “We could not ask for a more conscientious and competent fiscal staff than the one we have at Pioneer. A financial audit does not just examine numbers. It examines rules, guidelines and laws that must be followed by the school district. We have a great fiscal staff, Board of Education staff, administrative staff, teaching staff and support staff at Pioneer. Whether they realize it or not, everyone at Pioneer contributes to the success of the State Audit. The staff at Pioneer has always been very diligent about placing fiscal responsibility at the top of the list of our goals right along with our commitment to serve our students.”
The Auditor of State Award is given to those entities that file timely financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, as well as receive a clean audit report. The clean audit report means that the financial audit did not contain findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or any questioned costs.
