BUCYRUS—The Crawford County Board of Elections has certified several petitions for the upcoming May 2nd election.
Only one Democrat is seeking reelection to City Council. C. Aaron Sharrock currently represents the 2nd Ward.
Republican Chris Mauritz is seeking a council seat to represent the 1st Ward.
Zyan Morrison Hickman is asking to represent the 3rd Ward on the council. These candidates are unopposed. No candidate is vying for a council seat in the 4th Ward.
There are three at-large seats open on City Council. However, there are only two candidates in the race; Vicki Dishon and Kevin Myers. Myers currently sits on the council.
The three candidates vying for Mayor are Mark Makeever, Jenny Vermillion, and Bruce Truka.
Attorneys Brian Gernert and John Andrew Motter each seek Bucyrus City Law Director positions.
Interim Bucyrus City Auditor Kali C. Lewis is seeking the post permanently. She is unopposed.
There is no candidate currently declaring to run for Bucyrus City Council President.
Crestline Mayor Linda Horning Pit is seeking reelection. She is unopposed. Kevin Eckert is also unopposed for a seat on the council.
The Bucyrus Public Library is seeking renewal of its levy for operating expenses. Voters in Bucyrus are being asked to vote for a 0.25% income levy to support general operations and the safety forces.
Galion voters will be asked to approve the Sunday sale of liquor, wine, and mixed beverages at the Mi Cerritos Mexican Restaurant located at 741 Portland Way S. Galion.

Liberty Township ambulance and emergency medical services seek a renewal levy to maintain fire equipment.
Crestline, voters are being asked to support a renewal of an Emergency Levy for the Crestline Village Exempted School District to avoid an operating deficit.
The village of N. Robinson is seeking a renewal of its levy for operating expenses.
