Norwalk—The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Tiffin Police Department and the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, held an OVI checkpoint on Friday, June 16, 2023, in Seneca County. The Ohio Department of Transportation assisted with traffic control.
The OVI checkpoint was located on State Route 18 just east of US 224 in the City of Tiffin and was conducted from 7:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.
During the checkpoint, 884 drivers were checked for signs of impairment. No arrests were made for OVI in the checkpoint zone.
The OVI checkpoint was funded by federal grant funds and is intended to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
