Press release
The Crawford Park District will have a general open house on Thursday, August 25, to celebrate the 100th birthday of the National Park Service.
In 1916, Congress created the National Park Service, “To conserve the scenery and the natural and historic objects and the wild life therein and…leave them unimpaired for the enjoyment of future generations.”
Come to the Nature Center between 1pm and 3pm to eat a piece of birthday cake and to meet with like-minded people who value the precepts of the National Parks and the many local parks that followed in their footsteps. There will be an optional guided hike in Lowe-Volk Park at 2pm.
Lowe-Volk Park is located 3 miles north of US Route 30. For more information contact the Crawford Park District office at 419-683-9000.
