BUCYRUS—Gary Painter, 51, of Galion appeared in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday to plead guilty to several counts of Child Pornography.

In a negotiated plea agreement, Painter pleaded guilty to a total of five counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, each a second-degree felony.

Crawford county Common Please Court Judge Sean Leuthold sentenced Painter to a total of up to 24 years in prison. He will forfeit all devices related to the charges. He will be designated as a tier II sex offender.

Painter who is out of jail on a million-dollar bond will remain on a GPS monitor until he reports to be transported to prison on January 13, 2023.

Another defendant, Chad Myers, 38, of Mt. Gilead pleaded guilty to charges of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, both second-degree felonies. In an agreed plea negotiation, Judge Leuthold also sentenced Myers to up to the next 24 years in prison due to indeterminate sentencing laws. He will forfeit all illicit pornography-related materials to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department. Myers is also a designated tier II sex offender.

Myers has been free on a $1.5 million bond. He will remain on GPS monitoring until he reports for transport to prison on January 13, 2023.
