MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—The Ohio State Highway Patrol, in collaboration with the Mansfield Police Department, has announced an OVI checkpoint scheduled for tonight from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on North Trimble Road, near Wyandotte Avenue, in the City of Mansfield.

The OVI checkpoint, funded by federal grant funds, aims to deter and intercept impaired drivers. In addition to the checkpoint, nearby saturation patrols will be conducted to aggressively combat impaired driver-related injury and fatal crashes.

Authorities urge residents to plan ahead if they intend to consume alcohol. Designate a sober driver or make other travel arrangements before drinking. The Ohio State Highway Patrol emphasizes the importance of preventing the senseless and selfish act of driving while impaired, which can lead to tragic consequences.

If you suspect an impaired driver, call 911 or #677 to report it.
