A trooper in just his third year with the Ohio State Highway Patrol was named Trooper of the Year for 2013 at the Bucyrus post.

Craig Overly is 25 years old and joined the Highway Patrol in 2011. The Bucyrus Post is his first assignment.

Overly was selected in recognition of his service during the year by his fellow officers at the Bucyrus Post. Qualities cited for his selection include leadership, professional ethics, attitude cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.

Overly will also be considered for district and state Trooper of the Year awards as a result of his local award. Overly lives in Mount Victory with his wife and two children.
