Bucyrus police officers recently responded to a report of an unconscious woman being dragged by a man in the 100 block of Poplar Street the afternoon of Oct. 7.
It later was learned the woman had overdosed.
Bucyrus Police Chief David Koepke said an eyewitness told police the woman was dropped out of a vehicle in the 100 block of W. Mansfield St. At that moment the passerby called police.
The owner of a nearby apartment building said the woman was not a resident.
Security footage from a local business showed a light blue Mitsubishi Eclipse at the scene. Officers continue to search for the vehicle.
Life Support Team transported the woman to Bucyrus Community Hospital.
Koepke said Bucyrus police did not administer any Narcan to the woman but did not know if emergency services or hospital personnel gave the drug.
Koepke said the woman survived and was given immunity, which means she must seek treatment or may face legal charges.
