After a week of search warrants, home visits, and multiple arrests, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and BCI&I ended the week by searching Crawford County and eradicating marijuana plants from the community.
BCI&I provided air support, looking for marijuana grows, while deputies on the ground removed the plants as they were spotted. In total, 3,446 marijuana plants were seized Friday and will be destroyed, instead of being sold on the street.
An outside marijuana grow that was spotted from the air in the Galion area resulted in an arrest and follow-up investigation by the Galion Police Department.
“I would like to thank the following agencies for their participation this week: Bucyrus City Police and Fire departments, Galion City Police and Fire departments, Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office, BCI&I, Adult Parole Authority, METRICH and staff at the Sheriff’s Office. More importantly, I would like to thank the residents of Crawford County for supporting our efforts and our mission to clean up our communities. Without your support and willingness to get involved, none of the investigations this week would have been possible. As a reminder, please report suspicious activities to your local law enforcement agency,” Sheriff Scott Kent said.
