NEWS RELEASE:
NORWALK — The Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol currently is investigating a two-vehicle injury crash involving an OSHP patrol car.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Ohio 18 and Hartland Center Road on Friday at 7:08 p.m. in Townsend Township, Huron County.
Troopers were on the scene of an earlier two-vehicle crash at the intersection, when a second two-vehicle crash occurred in the same area. A 2017 marked Dodge Charger patrol car was attempting to cross Ohio 18, to get the second crash, when it was struck by a westbound 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.
Trooper Ashley Keller was operating the OSHP patrol car. Trooper Keller was wearing her seatbelt and sustained non-incapacitating injuries. She was transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center by Citizen’s Ambulance Service where she was treated and released.
The Dodge Ram was being operated by Bruce W. Hose, 53, from New London. Mr. Hose sustained minor injuries and was not transported. There were two other occupants in the Dodge Ram. Kim Hose, 54, from New London, was seated in the front middle seat, and she sustained minor injuries and was not transported. Kathy Knapp, 58, from Englewood, Florida was seated in the right front seat, and was not injured.
All three occupants in the Ram were wearing safety belts.
The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office, Citizen’s Ambulance, Townsend Township Fire Department, and White’s Automotive Towing.
The crash remains under investigation.
