Children and families are invited step back in time to the village of Bethlehem at “One Starry Night – A Family Christmas Event” on Friday, November 22 from 6 to 8 p.m., after the Santa Parade in downtown Bucyrus. The 100 block of East Warren Street is being transformed into Bethlehem on the night Mary and Joseph arrived and Jesus was born.

Come visit the Market, a very busy place with travelers who came far for the census. Enjoy a bite to eat and greet the village residents, Roman soldiers and other travelers. Watch out for those beggars and thieves! Stop at the Inn and stay awhile – if you can find room. Head over to Stargazer Hill, where the wise men are looking for the King’s star.

In the stable, you will find live animals and can visit with Mary and Joseph. You may even see the newborn Baby Jesus and catch a glimpse of angels announcing His birth to the shepherds.

This is the third annual presentation of “One Starry Night.” The event is sponsored by Your Bucyrus Neighborhood Churches: Bucyrus United Methodist Church, Father’s Heart Healing Center (Assembly of God), First Baptist Church, Good Hope Lutheran Church, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and St. John’s United Church of Christ. Members of their congregations will be in full costume, ready to escort visitors through Bethlehem.
