MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)- In light of safety concerns, the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) and administrators from Mansfield City Schools and Rocky River Schools have jointly decided to prohibit fans from attending the Mansfield Senior at Rocky River football game tonight.

The game was relocated from Mansfield Senior to Rocky River due to safety concerns after two separate threats were made against the school system. Mansfield Superintendent Stan Jefferson addressed the situation during a phone call on Friday afternoon.

Following a meeting between the OHSAA and the Rocky River superintendent, Jefferson explained that the decision to exclude fans from the game was reached after extensive discussions. As Rocky River is hosting the game, it was determined that no fans from either side would be allowed to attend.

A memo was also sent to parents of students in the school district, informing them of the decision. The memo emphasized that the restriction on fans was made in the interest of safety and was a collaborative decision involving the OHSAA and both district superintendents.

The Mansfield Division of Police will accompany the Mansfield Senior team as a precautionary measure.
