COLUMBUS-Yesterday, Governor DeWine announced a relaxation of safety regulations at sports and entertainment venues when safety protocols are followed.
Sporting and entertainment events can reopen this spring with 20 percent indoor capacity and 30 percent outdoor capacity if they follow established precautions. The precautions include mandatory mask wearing for employees and customers, spectator pathways that allow for social distancing, and seating in groups in six-foot intervals of no more than six people from the same household.
According to the press release, General Admission (lawn, standing room, infields) will be permitted if masks are worn and if a six-foot distancing can be maintained.
A new set of prom, banquet, wedding reception, fair, festival, and parade guidelines will roll out shortly.
The governor announced indoor sports and entertainment venues will be able to allow fans at 25% capacity, and he confirmed the cap will be 30% for outdoor venues like ballparks. Ohio’s professional teams will be expected to sell tickets in “pods,” he said.
