FREMONT, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—A two-vehicle crash on Saturday night in Sandusky Township left one person dead and three others injured, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:35 p.m. on U.S. 20 at the intersection of County Road 128. Her vehicle was struck by a 2016 Ford Explorer, driven by 17-year-old Troy Borrelli of Avon Lake, which was traveling southeast on U.S. 20. The Explorer then went off the road and struck a guardrail.

The right front passenger of the Chrysler minivan, 75-year-old Alfred Reiter, also of Helena, was pronounced dead at the scene. Elaine Reiter was transported to Saint Vincent Mercy Hospital with injuries.

Borrelli and his passenger, 16-year-old Nathan Shivey of Avon Lake, were both transported to Fremont Promedica Hospital.

The Fremont Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on the scene by the Sandusky County Sheriff’s Office, Fremont Police Department, Sandusky County EMS, Sandusky Township Fire Department, and Pat and Son’s Towing.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
