BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Future Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) students at the Crawford Success Center in Bucyrus will benefit from a new, large digital touchscreen display, thanks to a donation from the Ohio Mutual Insurance Group.

During the 2024-2025 school year, 52 students earned their LPN certificates from North Central State College, with many completing lab work at the Crawford Success Center. The new 85-inch interactive monitor will provide instructors with enhanced tools for hands-on learning in the LPN laboratory.

“The education and training taking place at the Success Center is transforming lives, and also meeting real needs in our community,” said Todd Boyer, VP of Corporate Communications at Ohio Mutual and a member of the Crawford Success Center Advisory Board. “Ohio Mutual has been an engaged supporter of the Crawford Success Center since its inception, and the donation of this large touch-screen monitor is a continuation of our support.”

The monitor includes a stylus and tools that can connect to a computer for interactive use on the large screen. Nursing instructors are already planning to use the display to enhance classroom discussions.

North Central State College President Dorey Diab expressed gratitude for the donation. “NC State is fortunate to have many, many long-term partnerships between the Crawford Success Center and businesses throughout Crawford County. Ohio Mutual is right at the top of that list,” said Diab. “They have been active participants in our efforts to raise educational attainment throughout the region. Their support has come in so many ways – time, talent and treasure. This beautiful display is just the most recent example of their support of the Crawford Success Center.”

The next group of LPN candidates is forming now, with classes scheduled to begin in the coming weeks.
