BUCYRUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Greg White, a retired Master Sergeant of the United States Air Force and Bucyrus native, is the driving force behind Ohio House Bill 576, aimed at designating November as “Veterans’ Month” in Ohio.

The initiative began when White shared his vision with Gubernatorial hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy during a visit to Bucyrus. Ramaswamy encouraged White to collaborate with State Representative Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) to bring the idea to life.

Following their discussions, McClain authored the bill, which was assigned to the Ohio Veterans and Military Deployment Committee on Friday morning.

This legislation seeks to promote a month-long observance that aligns with the federal holiday on November 11, recognizing the invaluable contributions of Ohio veterans.

The bill is scheduled to be presented for the first time in committee on Wednesday, November 19, at 10:30 AM in Room 115 of the State House. White is expected to attend this initial reading, expressing hopes that Ohio’s initiative will pave the way for a national observance dedicated to honoring veterans throughout the United States.
