Ohio drivers are seeing the same average price at the pump as they did a week ago.

Motorists could buy gas in Bucyrus on Monday morning at a $1.70 per gallon for regular. On Tuesday morning the price was $1.99.

The state average for a gallon of regular fuel was about $1.89 in Monday’s survey from auto club AAA, the Oil Price Information Service and WEX Inc. That’s the same average price drivers were paying a week ago and down only about 2 cents compared with this time last year.

Ohio’s prices continue running below the national average for regular gas, which was $1.99 to start this week. A year ago, the national average was about $2.21.

The relatively low gas prices have been attributed largely to falling prices of crude oil. Pump prices also typically fall during the winter months due to reduced demand.
