COLUMBUS, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, alongside Lt. Governor Jim Tressel and Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik, announced today the approval of 17 new projects set to create 2,347 jobs and retain 8,592 existing positions across the state.
The Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA), during its monthly meeting, assessed economic development proposals presented by JobsOhio and regional partners.
These initiatives are projected to add over $148 million in new payroll while generating an impressive $1.1 billion in investments throughout Ohio.
Among the noteworthy projects is one from Imasen Bucyrus Technology, Inc. in Bucyrus,(IB Tech), which anticipates creating 170 full-time-equivalent positions.
This expansion will yield more than $7.7 million in new annual payroll, focusing on the manufacturing of seats and seat control mechanisms for leading automotive clients.
The project includes establishing a new facility for seat mechanism product lines catering to electric vehicles, a potential paint/stamping line, and a new seat recliner mechanism designed for Honda. The TCA has granted a Job Creation Tax Credit of 1.305 percent over eight years for this initiative.
Another significant development comes from Kalmbach Feeds, Inc., which plans expansions in both the village of Carey and the city of Upper Sandusky, Wyandot County.
This project aims to create 213 full-time-equivalent positions and generate more than $14 million in new annual payroll. Known for providing customized feed solutions for livestock, dairy, poultry, pets, and equine, Kalmbach’s expansion will involve constructing a new pet food manufacturing facility and acquiring new machinery to meet increasing demand.
For this project, the TCA has approved a 1.569 percent Job Creation Tax Credit for nine years.
“The City of Bucyrus is deeply appreciative of IB Tech’s ongoing investment in our community,” said Bruce Truka, Mayor, city of Bucyrus. “We are proud of the opportunities this project will create for residents and families across Bucyrus.”
