There was more confirmation than surprise during Tuesday’s Presidential Primary Election, both here and Ohio.
The only surprise, if there was any at all, is that Bernie Sanders made it as close as he did in the battle for Ohio’s delegates. Clinton took 56.48 percent of Democrat votes statewide and 53.44 percent in Crawford County.
In the race for Republican nominee, Ohio Gov. John Kasich is proving to be more than a player and is one of just three candidates still running after Marco Rubio dropped out of the race following his loss in his home state of Florida.
Kasich didn’t lose his home state and knocked off front-running Donald Trump in the winner-take-all race for delegates by more than 11 percent in the Buckeye state. In Crawford County it was a much closer race. Kasich claimed 39.35 percent of Republican ballots cast while Trump got 36.40 percent.
