CRAWFORD COUNTY, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW) — The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced upcoming construction projects and a new road closure affecting major routes in Crawford County. All work is weather permitting and subject to change.

Beginning Monday, September 15, State Route 181 will be closed between Middletown Road and Horning Road for pavement repairs. The closure is expected to be complete by Thursday, September 18. The detour route will be SR 181 to SR 309 west, to SR 61 north, and back to SR 181. Local traffic will be maintained.

In addition, two separate resurfacing projects are ongoing in the county. State Route 61 will have single-lane closures through Crestline from Etler Drive to north of Thrush Avenue, and near Galion from the Morrow County line to Monnet New Winchester Road. This work includes pavement and bridge maintenance, with traffic maintained by flaggers.

State Route 181 is also undergoing resurfacing with single-lane closures through Crestline from Scott Street to the Crawford/Richland County line, and from the county line to SR 309. This project also includes pavement and bridge maintenance, with traffic maintained by flaggers.

Both resurfacing projects are estimated to be completed by September 2025.
