MANSFIELD, OH (CRAWFORD COUNTY NOW)—Bryce Witchey, a 28-year-old Mansfield resident suspected of importuning, had a plea entered on his behalf in the Richland County Common Pleas Court on June 25, 2024. The case was forwarded from the Mansfield Municipal Court.
Mansfield Attorney R. Rolf Whitney entered a plea of “Not Guilty” by reason of insanity and competency to stand trial for Bryce A. Witchey. This development comes as the case continues to unfold, drawing attention from the local community.
During a bond hearing on June 24, 2024, Witchey requested a court-appointed attorney. The court deliberated on an appropriate bond amount, which was eventually set at $500,000 cash. If Witchey makes bond, he is to have no contact with victims, minors, or females outside his immediate family.
In addition to the bond conditions, Witchey is also prohibited from using electronic devices while at the Richland County Jail and if he makes bond.
The case is still awaiting consideration by the Richland County Grand Jury, with no formal charges filed as of now.
