It took three fire companies to subdue a fire in New Washington Friday evening.
New Washington, Chatfield, and Attica fire departments responded to a fire at 130 Tiffin Street Friday. The residents were at home at the time of the fire; no one was injured.
“The fire appeared to start by the garage area,” New Washington Fire Chief Dick Ackerman said. “The fire spread through the house under the roof.”
The house is a total loss according to Ackerman.
“The upstairs ceiling fell in, and the main entrance is gutted,” Ackerman continued.
Ackerman said this incident wasn’t related to the other fires reported earlier this week.
Foul play is not expected however, the fire remains under investigation.
